HCTN : Martha Cooper

Legendary photographer Martha Cooper has been documenting graffiti and graffiti
writers since the late 1970s. Her and Henry Chalfant’s book “Subway Art”, originally
published in 1984, was largely responsible for the globalization of graffiti. She has
remained a fixture in the community and culture, and has been documenting the
Wynwood Walls since the project began in 2009. Welcome to episode 7 of HCTN.

Jesus Vs. Satan

Our dude Lush pretty much just put on the greatest art opening of all-time.
It featured a sweet little mini ramp custom painted with ‘scoot or die’ and a
giant shemale. A backyard wrestling cage match between Jesus and Satan which
had weapons such as : a pizza cutter; cheese grater; fluorescent light tubes; a
traffic pole covered in thumb tacks and a whole fuckload more thumbtacks
covering the floor. It all culminated in Jesus jumping off the top of the cage
and crashing Satan through a makeshift table. Blood was spilled, beer was
drank and good times were had by all. If you missed it here’s the video that
was shown and a couple of photos. Congratulations to Lush and Backwoods.

his struggles with his genetic disorder – ectodermal dysplasias and also discussing
his career as a skateboarder and artist, as well as his notorious hill bombing of NZ.
